Browniesssss. In celebration of the weekend. Let's go devour these together! Oh wait. I only have one left. Don't worry, i'll share.
These brownies are soo chewy, moist, dense and fudgy.
Top that brownie with a sweet and salty vanilla bean frosting and you've got yourself a really scrumptious treat.
And just to take these up a notch, I added a chocolate drizzle, some shaved chocolate, and toasted coconut. In other words, I trashed these up for you!
Chewy Fudge Brownies with Sea Salt Vanilla Bean Buttercream
Recipe adapted from Lauren's Latest
Yield: 9 Brownies
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter, unsalted
1 cup milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
2 tbsp cocoa powder (I used one tbsp dutch process and one tbsp regular unsweetened)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 9x9 inch pan with foil and generously grease.
In medium saucepan over medium low heat, melt butter, chocolate chips and cocoa, stirring constantly. Once melted remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar then eggs and vanilla. Add flour, powder and salt and mix until completely combined.
Spread batter in prepared pan and bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool Completely.
Sea Salt Vanilla Bean Buttercream

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 tsp fine sea salt
1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste (or pure vanilla extract)
3 cups powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp heavy cream
In bowl of stand mixer with paddle attachment, beat butter and sea salt at medium high speed until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla bean paste. With mixer speed on low, add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Lastly, add 1 tbsp of heavy cream and beat until well combined. If needed to reach desired consistency, add more heavy cream, 1 tsp at a time, up to 1 tbsp. Spread on cooled brownies and top with chocolate drizzle, shaved chocolate, and toasted coconut or whatever toppings you'd like.. be creative!
